C600 Sport and 650 GT Arrive ‘Down Under’ (arrivano in Australia)DECEMBER 11, 2012
Sotto i cieli blu di Sydney la nuova era della mobilità urbana è da poco arrivata in Australia con il lancio dello C600 Sport e C650GT maxi-scooter. Una selezione di giornalisti di moto a auto australiani erano riuniti nella città olimpica 2000 per essere pienamente informati sui due scooter e per metterli alla prova attraverso l'ambiente urbano, così come su e giù per la costa e le strade di montagna.
Per i giornalisti, l'evento è iniziato con la prima colazione nel pittoresco villaggio di mare di Bronte, prima di partire per una giornata di guida sotto la guida del Marketing Manager di BMW Motorrad Australia, Miles Davis e la sua squadra. E' diventato ben presto evidente come i giornalisti dalle discussioni alle fermate lungo il percorso che sia il C600 Sport e C650GT hanno impressionato molto di più di un semplice scooter.
Lungo il magnifico percorso costiero il plotone giornalistico ha fatto la sua strada prima di salire in strade forestali tortuose fiancheggiate dalla linea di sabbia in Australia. Una presentazione completa sul C600 Sport e C650GT si è tenuta durante il pranzo. Gli aspetti tecnici degli scooter sono stati spiegati in dettaglio tra cui il telaio dinamico e l'erogazione di potenza regolare del motore bicilindrico e del cambio trasmissione a variazione continua.
"Il C600 Sport e C650GT rappresentano una nuova dimensione alla gamma BMW Motorrad", ha detto BMW Motorrad Marketing Manager Australia, Miles Davis. "La mobilità urbana è molto più che la semplice capacità di guidare in città, si tratta di una nuova risposta alla guida in tutte le aree con tutti gli attributi che uno scooter pratico è in grado di fornire."
Alla fine della giornata era chiaro che erano tutti colpiti dalla qualità e la dinamica del scooter. Una cosa era evidente che anche se entrambi condividono lo stesso motore e telaio, hanno caratteristiche di guida nettamente individuali.
Mentre la maggior parte di America e in Europa sono ormai saldamente bloccati nella morsa dell'inverno, in Australia è estate ed è bello vedere il C600 Sport e C650GT apprezzato dai piloti nel sud del mondo.

Under blue Sydney skies the new era of Urban Mobility recently arrived in Australia with the launch of the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters. A selection of Australian motorcycle and car journalists were gathered in the 2000 Olympic city to be fully briefed on the two scooters and to put them to the test through the urban environment, as well as up and down the coast and mountain roads.
For the journalists, the event started with breakfast in the quaint seaside village of Bronte, before heading off for a day of riding under the guidance of BMW Motorrad Australia Marketing Manager, Miles Davis and his team. It soon became apparent as the journalists chatted at the stops along the way that both the C600 Sport and C650GT were impressive motorcycles in their own right – much more than just scooters.
Down the magnificent coastal route the journalistic peloton made its way before heading up into twisting forest roads that follow the line of Australia’s sandy edge. A full presentation on the C600 Sport and C650GT was held during lunch. The technical aspects of the scooters were explained in detail including the the dynamic chassis and the smooth power delivery of the twin-cylinder motor and continuously variable transmission gearbox.
“The C600 Sport and C650GT represent a new dimension to the BMW Motorrad range,” said BMW Motorrad Australia Marketing Manager, Miles Davis. “Urban Mobility is far more than just the ability to ride in the city, it is a new answer to riding in all areas with all the practical attributes a scooter can provide.”
At the end of the day, as the journalists headed home to various parts of the Big Brown Land, it was clear that they were all impressed with the quality and dynamics of the scooters. What was also apparent was even though they both share the same motor and chassis, they have distinctly individual riding characteristics.
While most of the America and Europe are now firmly stuck in the grips of winter, it’s Summer in Australia and it’s great to see the C600 Sport and C650GT being enjoyed by riders in the southern hemisphere.
