Un richiamo uffficiale per BMW C 600 e BMW C 650 GT - mErcato USA
BMW of North America has issued a recall through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for certain 2013-2015 model year C 600 Sport and C 650 GT scooters. The affected 600 Sport models were produced from August 2, 2012 to March 31, 2014 while the C 650 GTs were manufactured July 30, 2012 to May 29, 2015. According to the NHTSA release, “the front brake hoses on the affected scooters may kink and crack after turning the handlebars to the full left position repeatedly.” There are 1953 units potentially affected by the recall.
In the Defect Notice submitted to the NHTSA on November 5, 2015, BMW states that after parts testing between June and September 2015 the company concluded that the PVC protective hose covering on production parts was too stiff, “concentrating the bending stress which could lead to hose kinking.” To-date, there are no known accidents or injuries associated with the fault.
BMW plans to notify owners of affected models and dealers will replace the affected part with one that has a more flexible hose covering, free of charge. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.
Owners may also go to
www.safercar.gov or call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for more information. The NHTSA campaign ID number for this recall is 15V738000.
